About me
Ryan Luttrell ‘99 is currently
an Assistant Professor at The Culinary Institute of America in St.
Helena, California. He teaches in the Culinary Arts department and runs
on-campus restaurants such as the Ghirardelli Bakery Café. With over 25
years of experience in professional kitchens, he has managed
restaurants, hotels, and events, including all food operations for six
Super Bowls (2008-2013). Additionally, he has worked as a private chef
from Los Angeles to San Francisco and Wine Country, serving a diverse
clientele, including celebrities and food enthusiasts. He owned and
operated California Chocolate Company in Los Angeles for eight years and
was featured on NBC, CBS, GQ Magazine and the Food Network. He is an
avid artisan baker and researcher of ancient grains. At the CIA, he is
the founder and faculty advisor of the student club, the Grain Gang,
which was featured by BBC Storyworks (St. Helena, CA).
