About me
Jess has a deep passion for brining community together around the hearth.
After her education at Western Culinary in Portland, OR she had two very influential job experiences with wood-fired bakers, Scott Unfried out of North Carolina and Mark Doxteder from Oregon, that changed the way she thought about wood-fired cooking, local farmers, and community.
She moved back to her home state of Maine and in 2011 launched The Uproot Pie Company, a mobile wood-fired pizza business ,and recently in 2023 opened the Carriage House located in Thomaston, Maine.
She continues to bring community together across the mid-coast and enjoys sharing her knowledge of business ownership and wood-fired baking.
